Introduction

This IASSC-accredited Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification provides essential knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools, enabling participants to assist in identifying and eliminating inefficiencies in processes. Participants will learn the basics of Six Sigma and Lean principles, statistical methods, and process control techniques.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the foundational elements of Lean Six Sigma methodology. Understand in the Define, Measure, and Control (DMC) phases.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to real-world projects for process improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.
  • Apply Six Sigma metrics and develop project charters.
  • Conduct data analysis using measurement systems and process capability tools to make informed decisions.

Course Materials

Module 1: Define Phase
  • The Introduction to Six Sigma and Lean Concepts. The history and evolution of Six Sigma.
  • Project selection and charter development. Identifying Critical to Quality (CTQ) factors.
  • Basic metrics include DPU, DPMO, FTY, RTY, and cycle time.
 
Module 2: Measure Phase
  • The Process definition and mapping (SIPOC, Value Stream Maps). Cause & Effect diagrams (Fishbone diagrams).
  • Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Measurement system analysis, precision, and accuracy. Process capability analysis.
 
Module 3: Control Phase

This module introduces the fundamental concepts of Six Sigma and Lean, focusing on:

  • Lean tools like 5S, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and control charts.
  • Developing and implementing control plans.
  • Cost-benefit analysis for sustained improvements.
